Turbidity is the index used to measure the concentration of suspended particulate matter in a medium by analyzing its interaction with light. The PRE8200 Online Turbidity Sensor utilizes advanced technology to provide precise turbidity measurements.

Suspended particles in the water scatter incident light in various directions. For turbidity measurements, light scattered at a 90° angle is particularly valuable because it is less affected by particle size. The PRE8200 Online Turbidity Sensor emits infrared light at a wavelength of 860nm. The sensor detects the intensity of the scattered light at this 90° angle.

The transmitter within the PRE8200 Online Turbidity Sensor then calculates the turbidity level based on the detected scattered light intensity. This approach ensures accurate and reliable readings, making the PRE8200 an essential tool for monitoring water quality in various industrial and environmental applications.
