COD Analyzer Test Principle

Many organic compounds dissolved in water absorb ultraviolet light. By measuring the absorption level of 254nm wavelength ultraviolet light by these organic compounds, the PRE1053-COD analyzer determines the total quantity of organic pollutants present in the water. The analyzer uses two light sources: one emitting 254nm ultraviolet light and the other providing turbidity compensation. This dual light source setup automatically mitigates interference from suspended substances in the water, ensuring more stable and dependable measurements.
